Welcome to The Five Aspects of ME
We are a charitable organisation, based in Lancashire, that supports children and young people aged 7 to 16 years. The 'M' stands for Mentoring and the 'E' stands for Education - these are the two key areas of our work with young people.
We have worked for more than 20 years with children in some of the toughest wards in the UK and have delivered interventions on behalf of many funders and organisations, for example, European Social Fund, Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, Urban Regeneration, as well as schools and colleges.
Every child, indeed every person, wants to be happy and thrive, but, sadly, many lack the tools to do so. 'The Five Aspects Framework' is a quick and simple way of giving children, self-knowledge, self-confidence and an understanding of how to form positive, nurturing relationships and make constructive decisions about their lives.
We believe that the power to express thoughts and feelings is central to well-being and emotional stability, so we use the arts as a vehicle for helping children find their voice. ..and find themselves. Our activities activities can include art and drama, as well as written and spoken word. Alongside counsellors, therapists and mentors, we like to work with professional artists, such as the amazing Mann Group Photography prizewinner, Lisa Byrne, who shared fun and exciting photography techniques with the group.
